heard he has bought an all singing all dancing 235 bhp pinto to win his class in wicklow .hear it was12,000stirling . anybody heard of him before .

There's a fella from near here who lives in the Moy..he is called Shane Cullen and has been doing bits of rallying for the past year or two.

A 235bph pinto, believe it when i see it.

Would be very surprised to get that out of an 8v.

About 100bhp per litre is the going rate for a well built 8v engine.

Unless he has a twin cam head on it....then its a cosworth.

Would find it hard to believe alrite.........But.........I THOUGHT I read somewhere lately that Jondel are able to get approx that power from a pinto........
As I say, I may be wrong!!

Yes a Jondel Pinto running on injection and everything else can get 235 from it, thats the same kind of engine as Paul Hughes had in his blue Escort that he had a slight accident in on the Harvest last year, it was a Jondel and it had approx 230bhp from what i was told .

I know for sure it is possible to get 225 with throttles bodies.
I believe about 205 is as good as you can get without them.
Anymore and you will be rebuilding very often.
Just what i think feel free to tell me im wrong.

Valid points there. About 200 would be the limit on carbs

I suppose mapped with injection would result in further gains

The pinto has a hefty head with a lot of room for porting so maybe he has that power

Would be very good on tar, a lot of wheel spinning in the woods
