Did vauxhall ever sell works cars built by the factory but not used by the factory team if that makes sense

GCE506W & GCE507W were both built in Shepreth for Vauxhall Ireland in 1981. Cars were used by Ger Buckley & Ronnie Mc Cartney. These were not used by the UK works team.

Just there was a hs or hsr hit hard on the front in Ely lodge on the Lakeland stages i think maybe 84 the rally ran late in the year then no idea why but i thought that was Stanley Orr A lump of the wing and arch was still their to a few years back

just checked lakeland and bushwhacker reports in carsport dec 84. poor report on lakeland orr not mentioned, but on bushwhacker he finished 3rd OA.

I doubt if CVA753V was ever a works Chevette HSR.

I believe that car was built as works car but never got used by works team.

Was chatting George there on the chevette and he reckons that the car was definately built by the works team but never was used, Wilson Girvan aquired the car and won the scottish championship in this car before she came to Ireland.

When Drew ? ...would be great to watch a handful of ex-works chevettes battling it out on classic Irish stages again ! .... The current GM dealer network should chip in.... put up prize money and trophies ....

Slant 4 blocks would be more use to a man running an ex works chevette and 16v heads fpr that matter. Hard to get bits for now

Joe mc hale had it from 83 to 92 i think he won a couple of forest championship with it and a tarmac rally or rallys with it then Kevin Barrett had it then Brian corey had it .
