Hi im looking for some info on a Chevette reg AVE 345V, The last time i seen the car it was used in Scotland by Jimmy Patterson on the 1995 weldex rally but i have been told that its now in Ireland and not been used for a few years. Does anyone know where it is? And maybe have any photos

IF I could afford a ex works Chevette I would actually prefer to restore it to Irish Tarmac spec and in the colours of an Irish Car. Like Brendans, either as the AGV, Team PR Reilly car or the Blue Sqeez car or Demi Fitzgerald or Ger Buckleys lovely Vauxhall Ireland car.

What Year and Rallies are the pictures from Niall

Niall your fathers chevette was sold to Declan Wilmott and then onto Cecil Doak. It was Black? when Declan had it and Red in the Hands of Cecil.

It dropped a valve on the 1990 Rally of the Lakes and I have not seen it out since. I believe that the car was broken up for spares.

DZY 1 was the Squeez Chevette in the hands of Brendan Fagan which was then passed on to Bill Connolly, Donie Keating and I think Brendan Fagan bought the car back in the 90's.

Peadar Whyte in Ennis has a HS Chevette to be rebuilt sometime.

Niall,

This car is already back on the stages! It was bought by Andy Johnson a few years ago as a broken up car, and parts from a guy near Enniskillen, Trevor Speer i think, and Andy has it fixed up. It has a sister english reg to Ger Buckleys, GCE 507W. He did Kirkistown and Ballypatrick Stages in the car. It is now in silver, and seems to be running well. Your dad won the 85 Irish National Championship in that car didnt he? And the late Bertie Law won the 83 and 84 Championships in his. Time more of them were out, to beat the boring Escort's! I still have CVA my ex McRae car.

Andrew you'll have to bring that out onto the stages! What about 2010 in West Cork, 30 years after it made it competiton debut????
