The WRC cars will run but will not be eligable for BRC points. Also the cars will run further down the field, like maybe you will have the top BRC runners seeded before the WRC cars. Bit daft as the WRC cars are likely to catch the slower cars on the stages at some point. I hope to go back to the Jim Clark next year to catch the Genie again on those big jumps-he just dosen't lift.
As i am from england i am not looking forward to next years BRC. Not many people own S1600 cars and the group N cars are not very spectacular. I went to the Tempest at the weekend and the entry was about 20 cars. Non of the Stobart WRC cars did the event and the rest of the WRC cars such as Austin and Gareth didnt do the evnt. There were about 5 WRC cars on the event. Most not registered for championship points. The rest of the field where group n cars. One of the best group n cars was someone from Barbados in a SGP Evo 7. They where no S1600 cars. The only front wheel drive cars where group n cars. I went to Ulster this year and it was the best BRC round i have been on this year. Mostly because of the Irish crew in both the Int. rally and the National Rally.
The BRC went this way before and the whole thing floundered. It will be the same again in 06

It was like that in the past-look back to 2002 Ulster and Jim Clark rallys-all the WRC cars were seeded in the teens, all the S1600 in the 1 to 10 slots, Meeke in a Corsa at 4, Nesbit at 12 in a Subaru WRC

I wont be spectating on any BRC events next year apart from the Jim Clark and thats only because the Irish boys will be in..........
As rubtwax says 06 BRC will be a joke.........
You want top WRC action-Ireland is where it is at, the exchage rates are good and we only tease the english nowadays.
I wouldn't be suprised if there is a bit off shuffling around of rounds before we come to Galway. You can't expect Donnelly, Nesbitt, McHale, McGairity, Boland, Nesbitt, McNulty, Hurson and the rest to run behind 30 production cars. I don't think they would accept it again. They should hold firm and boycott the rounds. Although they done that with the Manx a few yrs back and Nesbitt went and entered it! West Cork, ALMC and Wexford would be more than capable of holding the rounds.
why not keep all the rounds in ireland???
I thought Mark Taylor stated in Motorsport News, that WRC's were welcome and would be seeded according to there drivers results and not as before. The only difference is this year they cannot win the BRC, nothing else has changed.
Did I read wrong/

That does not mean it will happen next year.

No Clan, you didn't read it wrong. I had a chat with Mark Taylor at the Ulster for an article in Pacenotes and he has said that WR Cars registered for ITC will run where they should run, those who deserve to be at the head of the field will be there.

I just hope you are right Ciara as I would hate to see them be treated like 2nd class citizens like a few years ago which was a disgrace!!!!!!
