I just read Ray Breens interview in Pacenotes, which is generally quite good. But he states he bought the first Malcolm Wilson WRC Escort of Eamon Boland which was M10 MWM. If I am not mistaken and it is possible, M10 MWM was a ex Steven Finley Escort Cosworth which he won the COI in. Not a WRC and I don't believe Eamon ever owned the car either. The first Private WRC Escort Eamon had was N3 MWM.
I think Eamon had L10 MWM for a while.
Can anyone claify??

M10 MWM was indeed the car which steven finlay won the circuit it was decked out in the finlay colours if i remember clearly

Cheers screamer for calling me a nerd I see you didn't leave your name! on the other thread about keeping it real I wonder why? The reason I questioned it is because the story is factually incorrect
Dontlifted I think you are correct Ray did have Eamons N3 MWM did'nt Mel Evans then buy this car suffer from same bad luck Ray had with the car. Where is it now?

But anyway, Finlay used L10 MWM throughout selected events of 1994, of which he won Galway, Circuit and Donegal. Only appeared once in Ireland in 1995 in the same car L10 on the Circuit, finishing second just ahead of Meagher in another Escort Cosworth. In 94 and 95 L10 MWM was in Michelon Pilot Colours.

Also only appeared once in Ireland in 1996, in M10 MWM on the Circuit, which he won. It was orange and white striped on tihs occasion.

alister mcrae used m10 after that didnt he it was lert orange and white for a while them painted yellow was it that car also that tommy graham and paddy white and some other lad from limerick drove what was his name ??? that might have been L10mwn either

The name rings a bell, but I do know Dessie Wilson and Campbell Roy sat with him at times throughout in 94, and Robbie Philpott sat with him in 96.

m10 mwm is owned by hal lewis now yeah. he used it on the 2003 carlow stages

L10 MWM was bought by JJ Fleming he sold it to Paddy White who re-sprayed it White funny enough. Then it was sold to Hal Lewis, who had a bit of a smash in it. now re-paired but unused. I have no idea where M10 MWM went though. Or for that matter where N3 MWM went after Mel Evans.

I HAVE A MODEL OF A ESCORT WRC FROM THE 1997 PORTUGESE RALLY DRIVEN BY FERNANDO PERES.THE REG IS M1O MWM.IT MUST BE THE GP A CAR CONVERTED TO A WRC VERSION JUST LIKE BOLANDS YELLOW CAR.

Phil Mills sat with Finlay when he put it in the trees on Cork 20, which let Mc Kinstry a clear run to the title.

I think Mills broke a finger in the accident?


Rays old yellow WRC Escort is in France now.

Well there we go, the reg must have been reused on a WRC car and the escort flogged off with a new identity. A standard ford practice. Eamons old car seems to be well travelled, Ireland, Wales then France.
Mystery solved, any bets that the ex liam McCarthy cossie is the car that steven won the COI in?

yea, it was a misprint in pace-notes, N3 MWM is correct. Ex Eamon Boland/JJ Flemming car. Melvyn evans bought the car off of dad. I even have the exact reg no on the wall in my room(it was the only thing salvagable after the fastnet:p:p:p!!!!!) Correct me if im wrong but did finlay also drive another PILOT cossie K202 HNO???
