I read in patterson notes that the rally ireland is being mooted for june next year, what a month that would be.Wonder would that be before donegal or after
Will next years event still be mixed or will they decide post this years event? , and I hope that there is no falling out over which surface gets the nod
It'll never happen. Cork has a 2 day forest rally and its a cracker. the club here should run a 2 day rally for the N.I championship. The tourist board wud luv it cause it'll fill a few beds in hotels, B&B's.

Loeb at Lough Navar?? Probably the year when Shergar will win the natioinal

But it would be nice to see it, no one can deny that

I dont think patterson meant the two will be on in the one month, i think he meant Rally Ireland will be run instead of Donegal, which means if it did get to be a round of the WRC that there would be about 10 entries for irish people in Donegal, thats not much good is it???:barf::dunno::barf:
Don't think that is the intent at all. Donegal has been running for years in June. Rally Ireland won't replace Donegal. It is a seperate event altogether.
i hope your right, but dont be too suprised if it does happen or if some people try to make it happen:caution::caution::caution:
They're hardly going to do away with Donegal, one of the Countries top Rallies to make way for a new rally which may or may not succeed in it's bid to become a round of the WRC......................
I'd imagine the two will run separately

I think it would be foolish of Ronan Morgan et al to try and replace Donegal and I would be extremely taken aback if that was their game plan (which I sincerely doubt!).
This is how rumours get started. Rally Ireland would have no intention of trying to take over the Donegal Rally. It wouldn't make sense. Politics would dictate that it couldn't happen.
I reckon it will be on the east coast of Ireland based on the logistics of getting to Ireland from across the water. If it is so far west it may discourage entries. You have Larne and Dublin port all within easy access. And it would it would likely be based in a city-Belfast or Dublin. I think we are all speculating based on where we would like it to be based and in the end no one knows what is really happening. So what if Donegal becomes a WRC event-why not and who cares if the Irish can't get an entry. There are proberbly only 10 or so drivers with the cars and the ability to keep up or even do well. Imagine Loeb becoming a victim of Knockalla-that would wipe the smug grin off his gob.
