An interview with Walter Mitty nav_rallysport
Q:"So Neil what do you do for a living?" A:"I work for my fathers Fork Lift truck company, aye all the big stuff 10 tonners upwards ,steel stock holders, shipyards etc,we are always in competition with Barry Groundwater up here in Aberdeen, undercutting each other, bet Barry and I get on very well"
Real answer ,Neil Has been unemployed for several months and his Father has never owned a company and is retired from the oil industry.
Q:"Rallying is expensive ,you must of spent a few bob in the last few years?"A:"Aye last year I spent £30k of my own money,I always pay the entry fees and fuel as I know how expensive it is to run a car"
Real answer,Neil has left debts were ever he has rallied and owes several drivers money,as for fuel ,his stock pile of Race fuel in Aberdeen is non existant and is always with a courier firm.
Q:"So Neil with all your experience what type of pace notes do you prefer?A: "Numbers allday easy to read and write"
Real answer ,Neil cannot read or write any notes, and stuggles with the English language .
Q:"Which rally cars do you prefer?" A:WRC Sean my regular Driver from Ireland has a WRC Escort and its quick,I also like Subarus as I have an Impreza Turbo road car"
Real answer,he sat in a WRC car once ,and he dosen't own a road car.
Q:"What equipment would you recommend to take on a rally"A:"Not a lot those trip things arent needed, maybe just a stopwatch and a pen"
Real answer Neil cant use a trip, his stopwatch is a bedside clock (digital) his pen got lost under his seat, but he did retreive his pen when he found the roadbook that he lost under the seat for two stages.
This is an insight into the mad world of Neil Foulkes ,his father has asked me to post this information on the internet ,on as many sights as possible,as he has had enough of him,Neil was last seen in Edinburgh, but has since dissapeared.I could write alot more ,most of it is unbelievable, and I hate typing,I hope this helps someone else from being stiched up!!! Not only is this lad a compulsive liar, but i think its safe to say he's mentally unstable, it must have taken alot of effort to continuiously keep coming up with these ball of lies....it sickens me that he'd no bothers dragging he's family down with him....also it s starange how many people he actually caught out.

I've never sworn at a co-driver before ,but his pace notes were dangerous ,every time control he had to ask them for the time, even after the first stage he got lost we only had to drive 500m back to service,he was heading me off to the next stages ,there was a really nice guy who was the competitor liason officer, whom he attached himself too at every service halt asking questions all the time,at the end of the event he joked saying "It was nice to do the event with me" every time we entered service he gave me a big sarcastic smile, very funny. So to recap I did the event blind and tried to remember stages that were repeated, whilst being annoyed by a bumbling fool sat next to me for 2 whole looooooooooooong days.
A classic lie from nav on the British Rally Forum - "We can't do the event at Goodwood as me and my driver won an event there in 2001 (there were no events there in 2001) and the organisers have said we can't come back as we're too quick for everyone else"

If only his thread on the British Rally Forum on finding a testing venue for a top up and coming WRC crew was still available to all. Pant wettingly funny and ended up over 20 pages long if memory serves correct. Sadly confined to the memories of those who were lucky enough to witness it.
the nav-rallysport life story, would make a better film than the 1963 "Billy Liar" film version
I've not had time to check out everything he's said on here but certainly reminiscent of his drivel on the British Forum. I take it he's done his usual trick of retaliating to any negative comments from those drivers unlucky enough to have him alongside with a line along the lines of "the reason we did so badly is because your car is a heap of sh*t, and your the slowest driver I've ever sat next to, my granny could do better"?

That was his usual retort. I just hope not too many people in Ireland had the misfortune to suffer his services?

Anyway, looks like I have an afternoon of reading his forum work, something I never thought I get to do again! Happy days.

PS - Civic - work computer has thrown a hissy fit hence blank message. Will try again from home later.
Enjoy mark,it'll certainly brighten up your afternoon, there's alot of bull to get through..:D

After reading sum of the comments left on the british forum, he after catching a good few lads, surprising he's antics were'nt noticed sooner.

Just windering rallycol, how long have ya knew this lad & how'd you come across him??

A wanted add on the internet, about 3 months before the rally, this is how the lies became bigger and long over the 3 month period, ringing me lateish at night after he has been out all day fixing invisible forklifts, name dropping until the cows come home.

Any one know if he sat with an Irish driver?
He was due to sit with Mark McElwee on this years Ulster International and he did not turn up (left him high and dry)

I was going back a few of his posts and he was on about doing a few ITC events with a fella called Gerard Sharkey from Donegal who rallies a N2 Civic but I am not sure if he went ahead wit hit or something ...

He worked as a Panel Beater not in his fathers forklift company !

To be honest i was that busy working and getting the car ready,I took my eye off him as I knew the co-driver was sorted,a very convincing liar on the phone, but as soon as i met him ,I thought oh dear what have I done .
