http://www.autosport-international.com/

Here you go JP. Register in the "Trade"section and they will send you out tickets for the "trade only" days on Thursday and Friday.(Also,no need to Queue)
Anyone going?
im going to the brc prizegiving on the friday night so planning to make it to the show on the saturday but that will all depend on how hung over ill be from the friday....
is it expensive, like for hotels and taxis to the show-
If you stay in Birmingham city centre itself you can either get the train to Birmingham International Station and walk the 5 minutes to the NEC or pay £8-10 for a taxi.

Hotels in the city centre are cheaper as you have travelodges, Jurys Inn and places like that. Airport and NEC hotel are already booked up apparently. The price fot he hotel will depend how far in advance oyu book it, Jurys Inn do discounts if you book by a certain date

Brian, where are the awards this year ? Same as last year ?

Cool its only 5min from the train, you could walk that no bother - thanks.

Are there student discounts at the door by any chance?

or maybe I will get me granny to book the tickets.
The route from the train station to the NEC is all indoor so no going out in the cold. The walkway leads you right from the station platform right into the main foyer of the exhibition centre.

No idea bout student discounts. Check the show website www.autosport-international.com

Have you been before ??
8-10 pounds wont take you to the city cente try 20 or 30 pound.
Yea Luis your right... they must thinks the paddy's are easy tagets...

Apu out of the simpsons tried to charge me £27 last year, i asked him was he looking for sponsorship or something... Threw him £20 and told him to F*cking sing for the rest!

Heading over Friday morning and returning that evening. €105 including trade ticket and flights is reasonable enough i think!
Inflation eh !! It cost me and a friend 9 pound odd to get form the NEC to Broad Street 2 years ago. Mind you, that was before 6 o'clock, so cheap time and it also depends on how many you have in the car. The taxis outside the hall can be and usually are a rip off. It is not even a 5 mile journey.

You could nearly buy one of them black taxis for the price of that journey.

That happens all the time in English cities, just re enforce the stereo type by talking Irish to them and not paying enough- I acted like I couldnt count top a London cabbie, then I told him in Irish I wanted to go to the toilet and that I was going to the shop to buy Ice Cream and choclate, than I told him how happy I was to lift the sam maguire:p

If it can be done in a day without hotels thats even better.
