MINI MAGIC SET TO BE A KEY DATE

Mini fans will gather in Ireland for the inaugural Mini Magic on July 15 - an event designed to enjoy the car we feel in love with in the '50s/60s and remains a favourite to this day.

WillPromotion event director, William Neill, said: "Mini Magic will be more than a gathering. It will be time to enjoy Minis - and for those who want to - get them on track. Rally, road and race will gather to share the day of celebration together.

"We are Mini fans and owners ourselves so, after a lot of planning, to bring this together is something special. We will have our own Mini there so join us for the day."

Bring your Mini and be a part of it either on show or on track. Early entries are encouraged and all age of Minis - and owners - will be welcome. Advance entry please for track entries.

Show and Mini park entries can enter on the day, however feel free to let us know you are coming.
The Midas, Marcos, Riley and Wolsey are all welcome too.

GALWAY MINI CENTRE SPONSOR MINI MAGIC’S TRACK DAY

- Win a passenger ride with rally champion Ray Cunningham

- Get your own road or competition Mini on track
- Mini specialist to display example of work

Galway Mini Centre will display a set of Minis prepared by the specialist at Mini Magic on July 15, as part of their track day sponsorship.
WillPromotion event director, William Neill, said: “Galway Mini Centre and Ray Cunningham have shown real enthusiasm for the Mini Magic event from the word go.

“It is rewarding to see our determination has been noticed by such a well respected Mini competitor and specialist. Put on top of that it will be a local event for the company and it works perfectly to have their support.”

Cunningham plans on taking at least one Mini on track where a lucky prize winner will sit alongside in what will be another busy season for the rally champion and business owner. Anyone who brings a Mini to the event will be in with a chance to get a passenger run with the rally champion. A name will be randomly selected on the day.

As a Mini builder, maintenance specialist and parts stockist for road and competition cars, the Galway Mini Centre owner will be available to talk to customers during the day.

Both the relaxed atmosphere show and track day element of Mini Magic have received notifications of interest and entries from both road and competition car owners. UK enquires has also boosted the potential for the summer event. Entries are now open and with limited places on track, early entry is encouraged and show entries are on the day.

The keenly priced track day at what is Europe’s largest outdoor karting centre is €95 (euro) and will run under a group format with three laps each session at around 4km, giving time for a mixture of getting on track, viewing the action and time to take in the show. Sessions will continue throughout the day with a passenger – providing they have signed in and meet requirements – permitted.

As it is a track day road cars are permitted. The minimum requirements are an Irish or UK driver license, long sleeves, working belts or harness and a track day-specification helmet with the aim to allow a wide scope of Minis on track.

Galway Mini Centre pre-ordered parts can be collected on the day at Mini Magic. To place an order phone +353 91 790046, +353 87 7995517 or email enquiries@galwayminicentre.com.

Event terms and requirements can be found on the official website.

Irish champion returns for Mini Magic

Irish Touring Car champion Eoghan Fogarty will drive an 1800cc 16-valve Clubman GT at Mini Magic on July 15 in Tynagh, County Galway.

It will be Fogarty's first time on track since claiming the crown in 2015 with the Honda engine Mini taking the place of a BMW M3 for the special occasion.

Sitting on 13-inch rims, the car dubbed Buzzing Hornet will travel from Tipperary fitted with carbon touches and protection.

WillPromotion Event Director, William Neill said: “Fogarty is one of a number of drivers putting finishing touches to his car in order to be ready in time for Mini Magic this summer. We know of engines being sourced and late nights in garages across Ireland – all with the aim of being on track in Tynagh.”

Neill, a Mini owner himself, added: “From an organising point of view it is excellent to see the enthusiasm for the new event supported by Galway Mini Centre. Looking at the range of Minis confirmed and those who have been in touch to say they will be entering, is what has the potential to make Mini Magic memorable for owners of the little car. Standard road Minis, rally cars and track specials are all expected.”

Open to road-going Minis means standard track day rules apply with minimum requirements a driving license (Ireland or UK), aged 18+, long sleeves, working belts or harness and a track day-spec helmet with entries at a keenly priced 95-euro permitting a passenger.

For those who prefer an easier pace there will also be a static Mini park and show with nearby track viewing area of which more details can be found at MiniMagicEvents.com.

It is now June and the final month to get advanced track entries submitted for Mini Magic.

“We have had lots of interest but we need remaining entries to become official over the next couple of weeks,” said WillPromotion Event Director, William Neill.

“We have been working hard to make sure we have some of the more unusual Minis on July 15 but equally we have the road-going classics that shout everything Mini. It takes owners to make the event happen.”
