As the opening round of the MSA National Gravel Championship, Rallye Sunseeker also welcomes contenders for a number of other Championships including, for the first time, the REAG Rally Cup. Based on four events – Sunseeker is the opening round – throughout Europe, the eventual winner will have the use of a Peugeot 206 WRC during the 2006 Bologna Motor Show – WRC Trophy Rally, while the top three in the final rankings will each receive 5,000.00 Euros – further information direct from www.reagrallycup.com

Also new to the event in 2006 is the Prodrive-supported ‘Subaru Masters’ which is running alongside the full National Gravel Championship, beginning with a trip to Bournemouth. The Masters caters for both N11 & N12 versions of the Impreza and, with the popularity of the car within rallying, is bound to create a very competitive Championship.

The Peugeot 206 Super Cup begins its quest to find the 2006 Champion on Rallye Sunseeker, while contenders for the Mitsubishi Cup and the ACSMC/ASEMC & ASWMC Regional Championships will also help to swell the entry list for the event.

Regulations will be available shortly by sending an e-mail giving your name and postal address to:

ELLIOTTHIRE’S UNDER-21 BIRTHDAY MONEY!

The central service area for Rallye Sunseeker (24/25th February), will be at Canford Arena and it will be sponsored, once again, by nationwide portable accommodation and secure storage specialists, Elliotthire.

In conjunction with the rally’s 21st Birthday celebrations this year, Elliotthire are getting into the spirit by donating a cash award of £250 and a trophy to the first driver, or co-driver, in the final results who was born after the first event took place, i.e. 1st October 1985.

Reinforcing Elliotthire’s commitment to Rallye Sunseeker, director Geoff Underhill commented, “For young competitors, the cost of rallying is becoming even more of a problem. Linking our special award, with its cash prize, to the date of the original event in Bournemouth should help a youngster in a very tangible way.”
