COI website crashed following announcement, news was broken about 6pm. Shouldn't this be in ERC section?

Got great coverage on both UTV and BBC news last night :-) BBC news had their sport section live from McGeehans garage and interviewed Marty McCormack

Just say there was not much discussion here maybe it's lost in this section perhaps it should be with the ERC section, great to see it back only worry is has the ERC/iRC lost it's edge
anyway we should use it as a show case for our talent be done line up with the likes of Breen, barabble,Cronin, fisher,McKenna,McCormack, the Moffat brothers we might just scare off every one else do

Gavin, as far as im aware and going from press release, similar area as it was supposed to run this year. ie South Antrim, and Down.
Guessing they might use Hamiltons Foley etc... and some of the stages if not the same as were planned for the Easter stages.

Longest stage of the rally nearly 30kms. Great to see longer stages back again. Wots peoples views. Would ye like to see the longer stages back in irish (European aswel for this event) rallying again. Make stages a bigger/proper test for man and machine?? Personally I think it's a great idea. What's yer view of this?

Definatly a good move in my eyes, getting back towards the circuit stages of old, though a bit harder to run now i would imagine, hopefully a couple of night stages this year aswell.
I just hope the ****s that cause trouble on stages (being a nuisance, not listening to marshalls and so on) stay away this year

How come the International section gets a collective 20 hours to recce, while the National section only gets a collective 14 hours to recce the exact same route? Doesn't seem very fair!

PEUGEOT SPORT RALLY-ACE CRAIG BREEN TO CONTEST CIRCUIT OF KERRY
Peugeot Sport rally-ace Craig Breen is set to contest the Fel’s Point Circuit of Kerry in the much-anticipated new Peugeot 208 T16, successor to the 207 S2000. Breen, FIA World Academy winner 2011 and SWRC 2012 champion, and co-driver Scott Martin are using the second round of the Dunlop Irish National Rally Championship as a high-speed test session, ahead of the European Rally Championship-counting Circuit of Ireland Rally, two weeks later.

from what I read the international entrants have a controlled 2 pass recce with specific window of opportunity for access - while the national entrants drive around and do 3 passes of each stage over a period of 2 days
seems reasonable that the professionals get 2 passes that they are used to - do you really need 20 hrs and 3 passes ?

Is the "national" rally running behind the "international" rally or are they all mixed into one..?

Art McCarrick

Just looking at international list. Says Lappi is in a Skoda S2000 R5 with Wiegand in an S2000. Has to be a typo surely?

dcr22B

Fabia R5 won't be seen until next year so it must be a typo.

no ERC first national run after.

but it would be a poorly effort if the clubmen of Ireland didn't show the event the support they have.what happened to bouffier saw a PR speel about him having a rematch on Irish tar after Greece

Cess

Bouffier binned a 207 S2000 in San Remo in the Italian championship at the weekend. I can only assume this has affected his budget for the Circuit.

I seen an article saying that it was a "poor" entry. In my view, any European championship event coming to Northern Ireland is a good thing and really looking forward to seeing these cars and drivers whether 4wd or 2wd!

When event was in the IRC it attracted 41 entries to international section. 38 this year, half are Irish/N Irish but there's more continental crews entered than 2 years ago. Being an island on the edge of Europe doesn't make the event that attractive a proposition for continental crews in terms of cost. Probably about as good an entry as they could have got bar Bouffier in fairness

Saw that this morning bit disrespectful,it just tells you bobby wants there money to prop up his ERC rally that's it.the sooner the Tarmac championship waves good bye to this rally the better, west cork may on have been an historic and modified round but every one was treated equal.

Would they be looking to shove back the spectators like in rally Ireland that the camera shots would just feature the cars and the Irish countryside unblemished as such.

There was a dirty shower just before it started. Dried fairly rapidly. Was still wet for Barrable though, he did look visibly faster.
