Agreed. If that's the reason I feel a bit embarrassed.

Let's just get on with it and as I said before no need to mentioning this political stuff if you have a gripe keep it under your hat.this is a rally forum

Pat, as you say this is a rally forum, and we are discussing a rally related issue are we not? no-one has directly mentioned political stuff, read the posts! The team have made it more political than it would ever have been running a skoda uk team, with skoda uk colours that they run in every other event around the world. would anyone have batted an eyelid or really cared if they hadnt changed it. we are 14 years into the peace process ffs. Its rallying, where, even through the darkest days in this land both sides of the community enjoyed their sport together, sat side by side in their cars with union jacks and tricolour flags on the same car windows. If people are offended by the skoda carrying a union jack livery well its very sad. Plenty of cars run tricolour roof vents etc, I dont see a rush to paint them over, nor should they. As said above, its embarrassing, that a team feels the need to still do something like that in this day and age.

Marty MacCormack has the right idea, instead of having a flag of an individual country just use the European flag!

Wish I'd never posted the damn picture. Forget all the silly chat.
As someone said elsewhere it more than likely the factory realise that Mikkelsen will win and they can't have an "importer" team (in the public's perception of course) beating the factory drivers. The Skoda UK car is a factory car as we all know.

I think you could be right there Noel, as the service barges still had the Union Jack all over it, as do the two lads helmets. I think it is just more to do with bringing them into the works fold a nd showing the team off to all there UK guests .

Unconfirmed reports that Mikkelsen personally requested the Carbon look on the Fabia for the COI to pay homage to all the Chicken Chasers following the event in their go faster Honda's & Evo's !!:laugh:

The Skoda UK Fabia would look well covered top to bottom with the E.U. colours :)
