Dani Sordo to drive Mini Super Production in Corsica. Pierre Campana was expected to get the drive as it's his home rally. Car is run by SMG Motorsport, owned by Drive-Pro who ran Campana last year in WRC, and will receive technical support from Prodrive.

Great start for Breen. Will be nice to see how McCormack settles into the S2000 now too.

Just look at the difference between the series (WRC & IRC). For each stage you can click on the driver in the stage times list and get their individual info from the stage, including their average speed and a quick quote. Small things like that make it so much better looking to the public.

Is there any radio coverage of it?......scratch that, found it!!

HEard back form marty that hes keeping the nose clean and learning the car. Only got 7km on shakedown cause of a wee issue which meant the had to return to service and they lost time to complete more mileage. All in all a fair start to his second ever event in a 4wd car. Be interested to see how he settles into the pace tomorrow and saturday

The IRC really is the Premier Rally Championship now from a competitor, spectator & television point of view... The WRC really missed the boat with the normally aspirated cars & the really close battles that everybody wants to see... Money wrecks Motorsport, but this Championship seems to have escaped that so far.... Hopefull the new Turbos don't Flip it up down the line...

Im sorry i wouldnt agree with you , money is starting to wreck this Champoinship and not from the compeditor but from the 'greed' of the promotor . When it started to get sucessful a few years ago they wondered how will we extract more money from this ? and someone said we will add more events but only eight out of twelve events will count and charge anybody who wants to hold a round about what €500,000 ?? Am i right ? So it has totally diluted the championship and the competition of it because you can pick and choose your events and avoid the competition if you want . Look at the Circuit Of Ireland lets be honest the quantity of entries was a disaster , i wonder how much money they lost ? anybody know ? So whats going to happen is the organisors of events like the COI will loose money over a few years as the interest in it dwindles and stop holding it as round of the IRC ,the compeditor will move to some other championship as there is no compedition and than the IRC will be dead aswell ...... Yes it is good this weekend as there is compedition in it but will there be compedition in it come the end of the season when some one of the Skoda boys is after winning the championship with a few rounds to go ? Most definately not - and the poor event organisior will be running an event with a lack of quality entries and no one will be bothered to take notice of the event itself . When it was a bit more compact with eight rounds or something like that and everybody had to do every round , because you couldnt afford to skip a round as you were loosing possible points to your compeditor it it was alot better - i just think they are on the slow road to ruining the championship :(
