Why not get over a day early and set up your car The rally is running a shakedown on the Thursday before the rally. It is open to all competitors not just the BRC. So if you fancy coming down and setting up your car with unlimited passes through while the stage is open just contact secretary@rallyesunseeker.co.uk and she will point you in the right direction.

We also need some Marshals for the shakedown & recce on the Friday, If you are free contact Matt on mattmdfowle@yahoo.co.uk and he will put you into the stages as close as you can get to the action..

In a major coup for the IRDC (International Rally Drivers Club), Southern Car Club, The Children’s Trust and the RNLI, Rallye Sunseeker are delighted to announce today that former works BMC driver and 1964 Monte Carlo winner Paddy Hopkirk will be the Guest of Honour at the Rallye Sunseeker Charity Auction & Awards Dinner to be held on Saturday 19th October in the Waterfront Suite at the RNLI College in Poole.

A life-member of the BRDC (British Racing Drivers Club) since 1967, winner of the Alpine Rally and a patron of the disability charity “WheelPower” amongst his many credits, Paddy will be flown by helicopter to Poole by none other than 4 times National Rally Champion Marcus Dodd.

2014 is the 50th anniversary of Paddy and Henry Liddon winning in Monte Carlo and his attendance has delighted Rally Director Rick Smith who said “What a coup to have such a charming guest for the evening. His status is legendary, and hopefully his appearance will help us raise money for our chosen charities this year -The Children’s Trust and the RNLI”

The Dinner is organised by the IRDC and their Chairman Shaun Martin was equally delighted to have ensured the appearance of a rally legend. He said “I was amazed when he said yes, and then thrilled when I realised how exciting his appearance would be for all our guests. It really is great news for everyone involved that Paddy Hopkirk can join us.”

The main Rallye Sunseeker awards will be presented to the relevant winners during the course of the evening, and on hand to assist with the evening will be Louise Goodman, ITVs British Touring Car Championship presenter, together with Andrew Coley one of Eurosports motor sport commentators..

Some tickets are still available for the Dinner and can be found at www.irdc.org.uk
