Im assuming dirt 3 is leading the way here. Just wondering is there any others that come close. Or are there any new games on the horizon that could be a potential contender....

have wrc3 and its not a bad game to be honest, If you like a real championship format its pretty good, you even get points for the power stage. Game play is good, not perfect but lots better than the last two wrc games made by Blackbean. The stages are challanging and you will notice you will be doing the same parts of a stage twice or 3 times and in different directions but with the amount of countrys its understandable that to fit 6 or 7 stages per rally ya will be revisiting parts of stages.

dirt3 has savage graphics and gameplay and the mk2 is of course how a mk2 should look and handle I guess, But I find myself playing wrc3 more due to the championship aspect. I didnt use the mk2 in wrc3 as I didnt bother doing "Road to Wrc" as thats taken up alot of time. A championship is long enough on its own.

Hadn't played Dirt 3 for nearly a year and went back to playing it over the weekend and after playing wrc3 I think wrc3 is a better game regarding handling and I would also think graphics is better as well, like has been said for the championship aspect its 100% better. Although on Dirt3 when you get a goo lobby of clean racers its good to mix it up with Gibsons 6r4 or Dorans Rs200 and C4

i played wrc for 1st time over xmas i must but it soon but id disagree with you eoin and its only a matter of opinion.. to me dirt has better handling and graphics by far.. Dirt has very good online play aswell..

Wrc beats it in terms of gameplay ie. championship, a more relevant career mode and the fact you have to drive as if it was a rear car not cutting bends and taking too many risks..

There should be no flashbacks in any game an dirt is a balls the way you can change levels mid rally no game should have that either

have been playing wrc 3 now a few weeks, bef hands down a million times better than dirt 3, not graphics wise tho but for game play it wins, i have also built a sim racing seat and it is unreal,

as for dirt how do u do a full rally or is it only one stage at a time in single player ?

Was bitterly disappointed with the first two wrc games. Had them for the xbox. Really reluctant to go back to them unless the changes are dramatically improved on the first twos sloppy car handling and unrealistic car sounds. Not too mention the pace notes were horrible.

Are the notes any more detailed. Last two hardly ever told u were to cut and not cut was dreadfull. And also are u allowed any further of the road found the last two if u wandered more than the width of the car of road car was reset used to really get on my wick. Found the first wrc so bad that an hour after buying it brand new threw it straight in the bin. Couldn bear to trade it in and put some other poor soul through the pain of it. Lol rant over

for as far as the xbox or ps3 goes wrc 3 is the best rallygame ever. once you play it a while with the wheel and get a car setup that suits you its the most enjoyable rally game you will play :) finland is class:) racing online is the best way to learn :) theres nothing like some man taking 30secs out of your time :p

I'm still yet to play through WRC 2012, so DiRT 3 remains top of my list for PS3 rally games. What I've played of WRC 2012 is far superior to the first two Milestone WRC games though, which were very poor in my opinion.

DiRT 3 isn't the most realistic rally game ever, but I like the physics and the audio is (pretty much) spot on. Plus the car selection is great as well. About all that lets it down is there isn't as many rally stages as I would like.

Still yet to get an official annoucement for it, but another Codemasters rally title is well on the way and they are still hinting that its going to be more stage-rally centric: fingers crossed its a good one!

WRC 3 is fantastic... if you've never driven a car before... Or sat in one... Ever!!

The cars don't look right if not current WRC spec (the Evo looks like something out of Need for Speed), they don't handle right or drive anyway well, it's an absolute mess when played with a wheel. Pacenotes are a good second too late even when on the 'in great advance' setting.

The stages are a bit longer, yes, but contain large chunks of repeated map. It's sort of like having a whole country's WRC event at Bishopscourt, with 7 stages using different routes around different sections, often repeated, of exactly the same track, if that makes some kinda sense??

Dirt is brilliant in terms of driving, I just hate that the game contains the Hoonigan & Rallycross rubbish. If the stages were a little less arcadey and a lot longer, I don't think you could go past it as the best console based rally game ever!
