will they sell if you give them a European address, I am guessing not as I have tried a few in the states and they will not ship outside of the states due to market agents in different geographies. Well found though and worth a shot.

I brought back a RAKE of clothes last xmas.. but I had worn them all at some stage while over there so they hadn't any labels on it..

Jim Downing and Bob Hubbard picked up an award at the Autosport Awards for the HANS. They said they are working more on the club competitor market, trying to making it more affordable. The HANS Device - Sport Series must be what they were on about.

Is the HANS Device - Sport Series available online yet?

Would you get away with wearing the hans device through customs and say you were in an accident and had to wear it as a neck support

MSI, need to be more specific, is it just Hans, that can be used or can you use Isaac's head and neck restraint system or Hutchens system or the SRS-1 or Whites system.

Exactly, is it just Hans that has to be used, if so that is restriction of trade to the other manufacturers and preventing competition or can we use other manufacturers head and Neck brace systems.

Is HANS not the trademark name for the technology.....
http://english.schroth.com/racing/hans_history.php

but there are a few different manufacturers..

I`m almost sure I`ve seen a Sparco HANS device also so I guess they are all using the same technology and just re-branding it...? (maybe I`m wrong..?)
Seems to me that theres 3 manufacturers + the F1 teams approved ..

Only the HANS has been approved on the FIA Driver Equipment (http://www.fia.com/sport/Regulations/driverequipregs.html) list, nothing else yet.

If anyone purchases let us know how you get on. Do you have to change harnesses & seats for the HANS?

There are three licencees to make the device and they pay a fee to Hans, either up front or per device they sell. Hans then control the sale price for each of the licencee's as per a recomended price list, with a little leaway given. Just knocked off a mail to the Competition Authority to see if the FIA and MSI are doing this legally.

The shoulder straps 3" will work, but if you can get 2" they sit even better as they are recommended, changing the seat if you can afford it ok but changing the position of the seat maybe fine.

No doubt it because the boy cant/wont sell them on export and I got a snotty email back from him when I asked the question, basically saying he wont sell to other countries where a HANS agent is already present.

Ya wouldnt be worth the hassle sending it back.

With regard to taxes, get the value declared less that €100 on the box including postage and signed as a gift and you will not get charged.

But if the item gets lost during shipping you will only be refunded the price on the box. I chanced it a few times and the item always arrived without paying any charges;)

There is a company based in Shannon Ireland that distributes Stand 21 products and they can supply both the cheaper (1kg) and more expensive (500 grams) Hans devices. CCS RacenRally can be found at www.ccsracenrally.com (http://www.ccsracenrally.com)

Great idea but no doubt people will still have something to whinge and moan about and more excuses!!!!!!!!! hire it 5 times a year for example, under €200. Bloody bargain

I think hiring out helmets is a bad idea. Il def buy my own helmet which will more than likely be stilo but id gladly hire out a hans. I think hiring a helmet is just a tad un-hygienic??
