the was a shot of stuart clarke in pacenotes centre spread a couple years back. It was one hot shot.
Also, the one of donnelly on knockalla sticks in my head - no action, but a lovely photo.
But the one that seals in for me is a pic of mcrae in action on finland in the legacy. The was no windscreen in the car, the sides and bonnet dozed completely. And mcrae and ringer were wearing plastic safetly goggles. He was totally hanging the car sideways on a sweeping corner. Don't know who took it, but mt thinks it must have been mcklein. Think it was autosport I seen it in.
If anyone can get a link to it, much appreciated.

be interesting to see who wins the pacenotes competition. It should be one of the best photo of irish rallying this year.
Mc Klein, The HIPPO, Juha Kankunan coming out of a Mudhole in the Safari in a Toyota Celica ST 185.
With little more than roof showing, an excellent shot Jon.
The McKlein calendar from 4-5 yrs ago, an aerial shot of I think a celica in the Swedish forests. Nice shot.
But then everyone has different taste in photography, some websites are full of nothing but cars in the air, which is nice, but for me (and this is just my opinion) A RWD/4WD car full of the rack makes a class shot, I remember that shot of Clarke someone mentioned, its still used in motorsport news i think, for someone's advert.

Circuit 03 this pic here
http://www.crspics.com/2003/tarmac03/circuit03/03-6-71-20.jpg
but taken from the opposite side (not sure who the photographer was? I thought I saw it in the CRS calander of that yr.
Anyway its a classic, James O Brien looking right into the camera- (probably with the fear of God in him:laugh:) and the Welder with a growl of an expression as he is firing the yoke out of the ditch.
To my mind that was Nesbitts most impressive drive ever, he so nearly bet McGarrity.

2 photographers got that shot, Trevor Foster (CRS Calendar) and Esler Crawford also got it. In Andrews defence he had no turbo on the first run and that time he never lifted, which got him out of the ditch. Gareth Jones went into the same ditch. It was the Arigna stage

It was without doubt one of the finest flat out bits of driving I've ever experienced, absolutely committed and you could hear him on the limiter for half a mile before the famous Arigna hairpins.
And by the way, more than just Trevor and Esler got it. Big Jonathan also got a good straight on shot of it and I wasn't far from where he went into the ditch, I kind of waited off for a second to see what he would do and then snapped on his exit from the ditch, as below

My favourite pics ever are Dessie Keenan up the gap with the teddy Dogs head out one window and the co-drivers fist out the other!! Great shot. There was a pic of McRae in the impreza, San Remo 96 i think, comin straight for the camera, way up in the air almost on his side. There's a great shot too of Mikko Hirvonen on the shakedown for Cyprus in 04, big jump, he lost it a bit on the landin, if you've seen da pic you'll know it :D
think there is a pic somewhere of mcrae in one of the first subaru wrc's over some jump in Australia where you can see the whole underside of the car he is so high.. think he siad he reckoned if he didnt lift for the first jump he would skip the second one.. either way it worked... ill try and look for it..

That would be the Bunnings jumps in Australia .
However I think the jump that he skipped is in Portugal, I remember Grist talking about it in an interview once, if memory serves me he spoke of how it was much more frightfull when they attempted to "test" the theory on Recce!!
The Bunnings jumps were used again this year and the jumps were tame by comparrison, you would think it a different stage. I wonder is that just the detriment of modern WRC cars and driving styles??
Brilliant site there Bommo, I will be lost in it for ages remembering all the old cars I had as a wain in poster form on my walls.
