Age old question but here goes, how many World cars are there in this country? I have put up an image of every WRC in the country that I know off.
Lets get the complete list so let me know what has been missed.
Not all images have the current driver in so give me a break on that one

Davy Greers Corolla is missing,Nigel Hicklin, Donie O Sullivan, possibly JJ Fleming. And if you counted Escort WRC(real ones) then you could add Dermot Kelly, George Robinson, James Murphy, Johnny O Sullivan, McCloskey, Martin Howley etc

Davy Greer has sold the Corolla to Belguim, Nigel Kicklin doesn't own a car and has Hired cars of late and KPL's THREE cars are there.
Escorts, don't go there as how many real WRC Escorts are there. But a very good point.
Has Donie still got the Focus?
JJ Fleming is without a car as far as I know but that could have changed.

Did'nt know about Davys car, You are correct there are very few genuine Escort WRC's in the country maybe three, but there are also some very close to full spec. I believe JJ has ordered a new car TBC, and Donie's has not appeared anywhere for sale recently. I have an feeling it might appear in Kingspan colours but that is just a personnal feeling. And I am assuming he still has it. Nigel I think has ordered a new car, but I did not know Sean Devine had two S9's does he still have the T11 SRT as well
Irish WRC are Eligible until there Homolgation runs out( a long time), they cannot be part of a WRC team but they can take part in the WRC also.
private teams arnt aloud the active diffs - sure it was said in motoring news that prodrive are doing kits to replace the active diffs for private impreza's to take part in thw wrc rounds:dunno::dunno:

abe, I think those kits are been made avilable to teams that compete in the WRC but at a private level like Kronos etc etc. Plus teams and championships that run to the latest FIA rules. But I don't think private active WRC's are banned, but they did have to protect the teams from been beaten by a private entrant running a car with active diffs hence no points.

for the first time in history of the wrc a round will have a top fifty of wrc cars:D just worried bout all the hype n then any of our boys couldn't compete cause there cars were nt eligible

Just added Donie O'Sullivan's Focus and amended DMG's S10 as it has a new owner.
Brendan Crealey's Focus isn't in Oreland and never has been so thats why it isn't on the list plus it's up for sale. It can be added if anyone feels strongly enough though.

Martin Doherty had the S6 out in Clare 1st outing for him in that car then he was at Aghadowey and Donegal Harvest , so you prob ain`t seen it yet Roy.
By what i hear he`ll prob have another new car to him anyway next year.

That started as the Stephen Murphy car, which was converted from a Group A car I am sure.
Most of the works cars had a number plate which finished with FMC.

roy i tried to find a post on british rally forum there that listed ALL the wrc's in ireland to no avail maybe posty there as ther anoracks will havethem saved on file somewhere lol
good stuff there, Bennett only has the one focus S16 FMC was sold earlier this year

Wheres the escort wrc meagher drove. It was up for sale last year by rory o connor. (last ever works car me thinks)
I heard that Craig's old Focus had just been sold very recently but not confirmed, anyone know where it has gone?

Steven Murphys Escort WRC is a genuine car, built with M-Sport parts and M-Sport personnel. Also McNeil motorsport have advertised recently R1 FMC which is a genuine ex Carlos Sainz WRC, but i have no idea who they were selling it for or who bought it.
R1 FMC is Neale Dougan's car from Scotland, red car which was out in Lurgan Park this year.
Is it one of the Cathcart's has an ex works Escort in Repsol colours? Done the Stormont festival in 2000.
Was that a GP A car or a WRC, can't remember but I have a pic somewhere

Anyone know what ever happened the P2000 (S6) Hugh Martin Doherty had in Carsport in early 2001, I think the reg was T1 SRT but one photo showed a different reg. It said it was ex Juha Kankunnen and the article said that he was gonna do various rallies that year, but obviously didn't because of F&M Disease.

was the other reg of HMD's car T223 BWL ? I remember it being inconsistent with the normal SRT and WRC reg's, and that reg rings a bell.
Rally Retro you are correct, it was though a 99 WRC and in the photo it did have T1 SRT and in another photo it had an Allstars reg on it, it bugged me at the time. But this car never made the stages.
AB, Roy is right no one is saying Johns car is not a WRC Escort, it is just not an M-Sport or Boreham car.
rallyretro, as far as i know the S6 you refer to was sold out of the country again, will confirm this at the weekend for you.
Will also confirm what the actual reg of this car was

Thats a FWD car, ex Tiff Needell, it was built by works team for him to do RAC many years ago. I think its only a 1300???

The HMD car appeared in Car sport in a track test driven by Ritchie Lyons many years ago with reg T223 BWL then Hu Mairtin donr Bishops Court in the car with reg T1SRT the next time the car appeared was in Hungary driven by Erik Korda and most recently Will Niccols has won the last round of that oul BRC in it.
PS Im fairly sure it was a 98 spec car.
Did Donnie not just hire that car from ADR and is it not back with them now??
And Escorts..............where do you start? Whats a Boreham built WRC and whats a Group A car with a rear wing??

you would know more than most of us, what was different between a Group A car such as L10MWM and a proper WRC Escort?
Sorry for the 3 posts in succession but I wanted to quote in the top 2.
Also well done to RD.COM on the idea and on taking the time to compile it
Peugeot announced about six weeks ago they would be supporting private 307 WRC's in 2006 so I guess that means they are for sale. We know George has the 307 WRC shell to be used in rallycross, my question to Ali was basically has this now changed!!!
A Group "A" cosworth used Semi Trailing Arm Suspension, where's the WRC used MacPherson Struts on the Boreham built cars, when M-Sport took over they changed the H Pattern FFD box to a Seq Xtrac unit and changed the shock Absorbers from dynamics to HT units. Also the later WRC cossies were in fact Active. Therefore two specs of Cosworth WRC exist the Boreham car and the M-Sport car.
Ali can fill in what I have missed, or if I am mistaken. It is possible to convert a Cosworth to a WRC, but it needs mods to the shell and basically everything else. The WRC engine, if I am right also uses longer studs and wills rings.
There are very few genuine Escort WRC's which is a big pity as I think personnelly they are outstanding. Frank Meagher in R6 FMC was a joy to watch.
I could be wrong about this , but all T reg Subarus were in fact 99 spec cars as was S reg, 98 reg Subarus were P and R reg. And plain P for 97 reg Subaru's.
So does anyone know where this 05 spec Skoda Fabia WRC DMG brought into Ireland is?
A few more updates have been added, number is now 66.
Not sure what the deal is with Donies car but I was told this week that he still has it so in it goes!
Who owns R6 FMC the ex Meagher car, without doudt the best Escort we have seen over here!!

Rory O'Connor crashed it very heavily there a few years ago (maybe 2002??). Crushed a few vertebrae in his back as far as I remember. Car written-off, perhaps?

McCloskey owns R6 FMC, he bought it of Rory after it was repaired. There is a debate about this in Ford circles whether R6 FMC or R14 FMC is the best WRC built. Certainly, Frank knew how to get the best from his car but the sound of Eamons was just that little bit better. Don't ask me why I cannot explain it

Should have noticed that it wasn't wrecked.
R6 banged a hell of a lot louder than R14; I'm not trying to use that as a gauge of performance, however. F*ck that was one deafening beast of a car though!
the 307 will be a complete wrc car . the only difference from the rally car will be the front and rear diffs will be passive and the gear change will be by stick as this is not aloud in rallycross .
Has George got the 307 up and running yet?

Just thought, Willie Singleton has a pukka, Escort WRC he bought off RED a few years back, ex Ari Vatanen car I think. I don't think Willie use's it much but I am sure he still has it.

Subaru S11 being used this year- Nesbitt / McKinstry?
Whatever car he may appear in (lol)- Derek McGarrity
and Ford Escort WRC - Willie Singleton's - Didnt Snijers appear in this car as an RED prepared car in Lurgan Park and Toshiba or was it a different car?

Willies Car is an ex Toshiba car, it was the sister car to P10 RED which later became B5 TOS, as used by both Ari 8th on the 97 network Q and in 98 by Armin who also used it on the Toshiba rally in the north.
Not sure, if its origins I beleive it was a spare shell built up and sold to Willie.
