View Full Version : Chip in a class 2 car o2der1 27-02-2007, 15:08 Is chipping the ecu allowed in Class2 ......? alan_k 27-02-2007, 15:23 no but veryone has it done so dont worry about it col331 01-03-2007, 14:56 you are allowed to chip your ecu in anyway you want as long as.motorsport ilreland can come along at anytime and plug in a standred ecu and the car will start. alan_k 01-03-2007, 16:03 but some standard ecus have to have the key wit the chip:detective: buckley 01-03-2007, 16:14 Is it called "chipping"? I always thought it was called a "re-map" on an fuel injection car. Chipping is for cars without injection. Maybe im wrong o2der1 01-03-2007, 16:52 Originally posted by buckley Is it called "chipping"? I always thought it was called a "re-map" on an fuel injection car. Chipping is for cars without injection. Maybe im wrong Ok ...well to re-phrase the question... Can I use a piggyback ECU in class 2...? Or Can I use a Mugen/Hondata ECU to replace the standard ECU in Class 2.... Surely to "re-map" you need a programmable chip in the ECU...so unless the standard one is programmable you need to change it or "chip" it............. Declan Stafford 01-03-2007, 16:56 ask old ttm............... they know the way!!!!!!!!!:wine: alan_k 01-03-2007, 17:28 yeah you can use the mugen ecu moodoo 02-03-2007, 08:49 AFAIK, Yep, as alan_k says, you can use what ECU you like, as long as a standard ECU will make the car start. |
