Seen it Martin

PJ models dosnt give a fuck what he does even if others plan to bring models out.

There was once a sort of gentlmans agreement between Rallymodels, Xavmodels,KMD and PJ that they wouldnt step on each others toes so to speak with what each other was doing.

Xavier did all the Mckinstry stuff, KMD did his, Rally models did their GB series and PJ his but it now seems that PJ dosnt give Two hoots about the rest of the modellers.

I had planned to do the Donnelly car but was quietly advised not to as I would of been told if I did then things would of been taken further if I brought them out.

I announced that I was doing the KPL which KMD did too but we both settled that but now it seems that PJ models has brought his version out and yes it is a free world but PJ models dosnt give Two ****s who is doing models and this has caused bad feeling among the other modellers.

PJ rallymodels cannot do their own stuff as he has to do what the other modellers announce

My version is still going ahead as I do have orders for them

It looks fine, however KPL's car was white around the mirrors not black in his model, Tarmac championship sticker missing from the bonnet as well was others

Mark Lowe

Well some people skimp on preparation Martin but if you ask PJ you will get
"Oh its a pre production model"

I cannot believe that having ordered the lynch Focus from Mark which I know will be to the highest standard that PJ has now decided that he cant think of another model to do out of all the cars that are on the stages.
I think its is very underhand of PJ models and I certainly will now think twice before dealing with him in the future!!

PJ builds lots of 1/43 rally models, that you both decided to do this model doesnt mean he copied you.
I gather from some of you previous posts that you no longer are as friendly with him as you were, call him up if its bothering you, he is a sound lad to talk to, and has released many fine models

Mark Lowe

David
I have known pj for a good while and used to get on with him, but the guy accused me of copying decals which was totally untrue and I asked him to prove where he got this info which he wouldnt or couldnt.

I had this model announced as soon as Galway was over and so did KMD which we had a chat about but PJ has done stuff that KMD was doing so I'm not the only person that he has decided to do models of that someone else was doing.

He can sell what he wants but I have invested a lot of money to get the decals done and ordered base models, I know for a fact he wouldnt be happy if I done what he was doing and a few years ago I was planning the Higgins RAC MK1 and Perez Stratos plus the Stobart MK2 from 06 RAC as I had permission to take pics and make decals up but was told PJ had them planned so I dropped them to concentrate on something else as I do take other model makers into account unlike some.

I'm familiar with the models of KMD, PJ, Rallymodels and Xav and I wouldnt say that any of their work is always flawless, but I have built a lot of models myself and although I am happy with the level I can achieve I know I have never yet and dont expect ever to build a model that is flawless.

Do you or have you ever tried to build?, what flaws did you see in PJs work? He certainly tries to do liveries like Perezs Focus which I doubt anyone else would attempt

Metro_Gaz

does any one know where i can get any Ireland model in 1.18 without having to put on the decals myself???

The paint job on 2 of the models were off color and the decals on 1 of them were a cream when they should have been white. The wheels on 2 of them had gold coming through them and 1 had a decal missing off it. Also on 1 of them he roll cage was broken. I have to say I buy of kmd on a regular basis and have yet to find a flaw with it. I don't build myself and I know it a hard thing to do and I am not saying that all his work is bad but I will never buy off him again. Not having a go at anyone but this is my opinion.

Luckly I only build 1/24 plastic stuff so I don't step on any toes-and there has not been much building at all recently.

The last car I completed was Ray Breen's Focus and even that was not fully finished-Luckly Ray didn't spot that bit-but then only the bloke who made it really knows. Last I heard it was sitting in his offfice in Keltec. There is another one upstairs that never got finished-ah well.

You are ok Rory as you build your own stuff and I would think you would take people into consideration but others dont and they will only wreck the model market for themselves as model makers will make what they want now regardless of what others are/ want to do

Rory O Connor

It seems to me that a lot of people are jumpimg on the bandwagon in regard to Irish rally models. Some of the stuff out there is pure shite-an example being the Donnelly Corolla that is for sale from Orchard. I guess you get what you pay for-I have one KMD car-the blue ToughMac Subaru of Fisher and it is brilliant. No offence Mark but Kevin set the standard a long time ago and in fairness your Marrko Subaru looks exceptional

No offence taken Rory

I have always liked the Irish models over the Brit cars and when Kevin first started doing the M3's of Fisher and McHale and the Boland Escort WRC plus the Cullen Pink Sierra it was me that re done the dashboards from left to Right hand drive so I suppose I contributed to the excellent standard Kevin has carried on since.

The best standard I have ever seen was from the guy that built for Showcase models to which both Kevin and Xavier and even myself where customers of so we have seen what can be done and made what isnt widely available.

If people are happy with build quality then you will keep them customers / collectors.

I have never seen the Corolla close up but that one from Orchard is a PJ models car so I cant comment on that one

Aggghhhhh BALLAKS. I'm only new to the forum this past year, therefor i didn't know that Mark also built this car so i bought one of PJ. (doh!)
Ran upstairs there to get the model and compare it with the pictures of Marks. I thought that PJs was good but the difference from Marks is day and night. The black stripe on the roof, sides and bonnet is just that, black! No silver outline
Then again if big Mitchell is supplying graphics you cant go wrong :)
Lesson learned.
Keep up the good work Mark.

Stick yours on Ebay Mr Walsh and buy one of these:kiss:
Also there is the Lurgan Park car too.

Sorry, but I only concentrate on 1/43 and not 1/18 scale.

The pics where supplied by Peter Boyd Peespeed Photography ( who received one too) and the decals produced by a very proffessional outfit
