Collecting Rally Car models!

For the last few months I`ve began to collect various models of Rally Cars, old and new, from makes sauch as Corgi/Bburago/Matchbox/Solido/Saico/IXO And a few others

Ok!, I Know some of these names aren`t as "Good" as your other names that come in kit form/Specially Built that are usually talked about on this forum but I Reckon some of these models are pretty good!:laugh:

I used to collect similar to above till I found Showcase Models ran by a very good personal friend Mike Nellis of Penrith in Cumbria in 1990 and thats when the rally model collecting really took off (and lightened my bank account lol).

Sadly the business is not there not there now as Mike has retired but a lot of his work and business name has been taken over by Xavs Models and knowing Xavier along with his business will keep the quality of Mike's work / clients work on going.

Got a few things here hopefully someone can help with, Saw an old Corgi Rally Set in my local model shop today and was wandering weather its worth the asking price of 12 quid?

The set includes A Toyota Corolla Twin Cam in the Datapost Colours and entered the Skip Brown Rally, [1/43 scale], along with the car is a Ford Transit Van again in the Team Datapost colours

Set must be from mid to late 80`s and In mint condition!, any good then?

Also anyone know who actually drove that Toyota Corolla on the Skip Brown Rally, [Welsh Event], car was No. 63 I Think!

Grab it if you can-that sort of think is rare and someone will have it off you on eBay. Corolla twin cam in datapost colours-could be Mann's car-he drove some thing like that in the 80s

This is the latest addition to my collection, its a MIRA Built Lancia Delta S4 In the Totip/Repsol colours, very nice looking car!

I Think its a spanish manufacturer, MIRA Never heard of it before, anyone know info of the car itself, I Thought it looks like the same colours that Carlos Sainz had on his Delta Integrale but this is a Delta S4 Model, so I`m not sure!

Just been looking at the Audi Quattro that I was talking about on here in an earlier thread at my local model shop, he`s only just got it in and selling at 12.50

Is it worth it? looks to be a rare model as they are never on e-bay?

I remember a different version to that one with Brown striping and if I can think back that far I had one.

Price wise I suppose a tenner but then again it depends on what you think its worth and if you want it that much

I was bidding on that Matchbox Audi Quattro last night on e-bay!

Sme bugger got it off me in the last few seconds!:mad::mad:, Bastard!

It went for 25 quid in the end!

I am now looking for the Trofeu Toyota Celica GT4 Of D.Llewelin/P.Short from the RAC, I Really want it!

I think the G.Mills Quattro was a makey up.

If you can get hold of the Green Matchbox Superkings Datsun with the bubble arches and opening bonnet in mint condition then you will have a rare model
