View Full Version : Bedding in new discs??
Bought a new set of ap discs and was told to bed them in for at least 200 miles or else they will warp.
How am I going to bed them in for 10 miles never mine 200 miles in my rally car.
Need them run-in before the stonetrowers

If the pads and discs are both new then a bit of heating up on the way to the 1st stage will be grand!! 200miles!! sure they will be worn out after that!!

Thats just awl waranty **** to cover any unussual defects then they would say did you make sure they were run/bed in for 200 miles! Run them in with little braking up and down the road a few times then heat up before stages to avoid rapid heating and damaging the discs would do!

no all that is really needed to warm/bed them in is to drive to the first stage with yer left foot planted on the brakes.

then you have cooked brakes for the first stage!!!!
hang on lads, find out wat class he running before telling him to keep foot on brake all the way through the stage.....
if he class 11 it might be best to keep the hand brake up aswell.....:gotcha::gotcha::gotcha:

I reccomend light breaking for 5 to 10 miles, then take it to about 80 or so and stand on them to about 20 let the discs cool and repeat again, after this they should be ready for some abuse

standing on the brakes will red n them.. at about 70 mph lift off and press the brake s slowly, slowing down the car until nerly stoped! repeat this 5/6 times..
