Do you know what rallies the car done? and Why so urgent? If it done any internationals in Ireland, or the Manx, theres a good chance I would have a photo of it.

Looking pics (preferably colour) of the car Tony Pond drove on the Nissan Rally 1984 in South Africa.. Opel Kadett D 400 ( basically a Manta 400 with an Astra/Kadett Hatchback shell on top ) I believe this was one of only three cars built by Opel in Germany ... My Dad's friend has one now and we are trying to trace it's history. These cars were rallied in South Africa where Non-Homologated rallycars could run/test... I think there was even a four wheel drive example ...but all were built/tested in almost secrecy ! possibly also I've heard some Scottish guy rallied one circa 1988 ?

Is this not the same car Micheal Black from Markerthill has been rallying for a few years??

Take a look at this Kadett 400 site (http://www.kadett.400.freehomepage.com/index.html)
taken from the site
In Tony Pond's hands, the Kadett 400 showed its handling potential in the Nissan Rally, although the car seemed slightly top-heavy and the car lifted its front wheels rather easily.
Pond was able to maintain second place behind van der Merwe's Audi Quattro and even set three fastest times out of the nine stages he completed, but retired on the tenth stage after the oil pump drive failed.

The car in question ended up in the hands of Paddy White who currently campaigns a Subaru S9. He did the Donegal Int in 87 and also the Carlow stages that year in the car. If memory serves me the reg contained the letters KIK or KIX ??
does any1 remember the purple"ish" FUCHS rallycar that was out on the toshiba a few years back! What car is it exactly? is it a kadett or astra or what?

Well, after what 2223IM said about "KIX 995", yes I do have some photos from 86/87 and its sponsored by "Navan Tyre Centre" - Is this Paddy White? Either way though however Im suspicious as to whether its the original shell or not, because the arches don't seem as wide as those on that site linked above.

The Fuchs car if it runs the reg MSM or similar is an ex works Kadett 400.
There where 3 built but sent to south africa in kit form and built up.
Tony P drove one, there was a car with Guy Colsoul's name on the door and the "fuchs" car was owned in the UK by Bernard Rooney of Scotland
They where brought to the UK by Malcolm Wilson Motorsport where Murray Grierson bought one with a massive amount tof spares and was registered Q625PDS and he rallied it from late 86-88.
This car went to Graham Cornes, then to Welshman Brian Price where it was driven by Graham Middleton and I now beleive its sitting rotting in Holland

True, but I was under the impression she was part of an all-female team ? Or was that another year? Some girl in a DOTI-backed Nova, daughter of a car dealer in Cork ?

Gus your're thinking of Marie Maloney from Dungarvan Co.Waterford. She was on the scene in the early 80's in a Kadett SR and later in a Nova SR. Catherine Treacy sat with her alright.
No John I didnt but maybe i did what exactly was the pic!??????
I sent it to your email Blacks Kadett from last years Gullion stages
