View Full Version : My Nikon F55 Camera...

Does anyone know where I could get my usually very reliable Nikon F55 camera repaired...;)

I had it with Jessops and they quoted a really silly price to only send it away firstly so I therefor decided against that plan of action.

There appears to be a shutter problem, it doesn't want to focus or take the shot, just constantly focusing...

Perhaps even the photographers on here might take it for me for repairs, and name their price etc...

I don't know what I'am going to do...:surrender:

All help greatly appreciated.

Hi
Mark

Any repair cost against your F55 would be exceptionally more than the current market value of your F55.

Now would be a good time to upgrade

Go digital they are the way foward and are getting cheaper day by day.
D70s would be a good choice if you want to stay with Nikon.

Many thanks guys for your advice, greatly appreciated for sure...;)

I was actually looking at digital cameras, and nearly bought a tidy looking Sony model...

What would you guys advise me to do with the F55, I would assume nobody would be even interested in it...:surrender:

It looks like I will be making another visit to Jessops in a buying capacity this time...

Might be worth checking out second hand F55 if you want another. Jessops have some I think. A few on ebay too.

If you are buying digital and can wait, Canon are due to launch a couple of new cameras in August.

dpreview (http://www.dpreview.com) is well worth a look.

Jessops would be the last place I would look for
anything as they charge away over the top.
Much cheaper on the net like EBay if you have used it before!

Buy a good photography magazine as they have loads of adverts of shops available on the WWW.

As for your F55 they make a good paper weight.;)

For your new camera try:

mifsuds.com

warehouseexpress.com

ajpurdy.co.uk

parkcameras.co.uk

wilkinson.co.uk are also great to deal with, I got my current camera from them when everyone else was out of stock.

Hope this helps
