hi all was chatting to a guy today about a plumbed in system has anyone heard of Saclon in place of afff, i called a scrutineer about them and he was pretty sure we can use them he said he had heard of them but to check the msi site about them appendix 2 but all i could see was afff and a few other ones, was told by another guy this is what they use in wrc instead of what we use 4-6ltr tank these only use 2ltr tank

here is a piece about saclon
Saclon II Eco is also known as HFC Blend A, It is a blend of Hydro Fluoro carbon & organic detossificant essence P 26. Approved by Italian Government as a non ozone harming environmentally safe option Approved by Italian ministry of health Approved as a clean agent by Italian Interior ministry Suitable for A, B, C class and electrical fires Leaves no residue Non-Corrosive ensuring the safety of your belongings Odourless, colourless and non residual clean agent.

what ye think can we use these or not for rallying ???????????????

dunno really, it would be worth contactin the lads who supply the fire extinguishers for the rallying, they've tested alot and no what works. they showed a video of new stuff ( can't remember the name of it) bein tested, it was supposed to be the bee's knees but all it did was push the fire across the surface, wasn't hlf as effective as the afff ( not that thats brilliant either).

Is this the system Ronan where you run a pressurised pipe around the danger areas and a fire in a particular spot melts the pipe which triggers the extinguisher in that spot ?
This is used in hard to get to areas in factory machines but also has been used in vehicles for Dakar.

Can we not mount the 4 lt extinguisher behind the navi foot rest any more? It's a lot of trouble to move it now, because the pull cables and pipes are now too short?
