Has he noticed any play in the gearing of the quickener itself? kforkevin 13-01-2011, 17:43 i think they are not fia " likeable". damob 13-01-2011, 22:11 i think they are not fia " likeable". I can imagine scrutineers might not be too happy with them! gkd 14-01-2011, 08:23 I use a similar steering quickener(Coleman, 1.5:1, 3-bolt) in a 97 Civic for gravel rallies. It does have free play(even when new)but it has stood up to a full season of gravel rallying(some of our California rallies are very, very rough). Since there is no LHD Civic quick rack available, steering quickeners are used by a few gravel Civics in the US. The free play is noticeable on tarmac and it does remove a lot of the feedback. On gravel, the steering play does not seem to be a big issue. George hesus2003 14-01-2011, 08:38 does quaife not make a lhd quickrack for the civic? gkd 14-01-2011, 16:54 does quaife not make a lhd quickrack for the civic? Quaife does not make a LHD quick rack for power steering, only for non-assisted. On gravel rallies the steering kickback is too harsh and the effort too high without PS. As far as the PS pump goes, I had to modify both the bypass spring and the outlet valve to make sure that there was assist at high rpm. George |
