Just wondering what would forest rally tyres be good in the snow

I did a 'testing session' last week to find this out. Forestry tyres work very well in deep fresh snow but on packed frozen snow & ice they are dangerous, worse than standard road tyres. I'm afraid proper winter tyres are the only answer.

Strangly enough, I've found the opposite. I've found that the Forest tyres (during a testing session) that the forest tyres actually cut through the compacted snow/ice a fraction.

Let me put it this way, in the estate where I live, the only two wheel drive car that can get up to my door is a car on either forest tyres or on snow tyres......

Yea,thats the way I see it too,the only way I can see the forest tyres bein any good on the compacted stuff if they are really soft ones
