get the electric power steering pump out of a corsa anput it in. its not that hard. either that or go to a scrap yard and get the power steering out of a 307

electric pump? dont i still need a ps rack.. ?? ( i'm no mechanic by the way ;) )

no they use them in escorts the whole time. the pump is half way down the column so theres no fluid or any of that messing. you just modify the original column and fit the corsa one into place and just give it a power and an earth

so whats the reliabilty on them? i like my quick rack because its 'quick' , so how much modifying is there? i wont be doing fitting it.. my mechanic will be.. how 'light' will it make the steering?

thanks for the help!

an awful lot lighter. its not that hard. if your having any trouble give me a shout. you can still keep the quick rack

The corsa power steering rack is one piece,

The power assitance comes from a motor attached to the coloum it aids you turning the rack you use your standard rack and just link it together but as your fittin it to your 205 im lost there

just get the electric pump and make sure its the one built into the steering column.

JP was saying I might need the ECU out of the corsa and a different column ??

thats the way its done on a mk2 anyway from what i can gather

From what ive heard you link it to the ECU to change the sensitivity of the motor, ie. at high revs / speed the steering in alot heavier.. Their is a similar style electric power assist in the new Toyota corollas, it works also by wraping around the steering column..

the chances of a steering colum from a corsa bolting up to a 205 is pretty slim its not a bolt on part for a mk2 either unless you buy the kit off someone like raloy montgomery also has them in stock

just buy a quick rack for your 205 i take it ure on 14" you dont need ps on a 205
