you should be able to capture your video now and transfer it to a file in your laptop.
Remember video takes up alot of your memory on laptop so Id delete it when finished or save it to an external hard drive. The software you have is prob different to mine so its hard to tell ya what to do next.

If your camera is a hard drive camera just connect it to your computer and ignore all the software **** that came with the camera and just open the memory to view files and transfer to your computers memory

Can the laptop 'see' the camera when you connect it? If not check camera is on, check connections and/or reinstall camera software/driver.

If you recorded on to a memory card, you can probably just grab it copy from the camera once its plugged into the computer. Or use a card reader and copy across.

When you open the software, find the capture option, and record your video to your hardrive.
