Basically last week i got a camera mount for my car. Mount attaches basically anywhere on the car. So i attached my Sony HDD camcorder to it and took off up the road for a trial run.

Problem: After sometime the camcorder stops recording, turns itself off. Now at first we thought maybe it was to do with the speed and vibration but it will do it even at low speeds.

Does anyone know why this would be happening?? Maybe some of you have come across this problem whilst trying to do in-car camera??

We tried it at slow speeds/higher speeds incar/outcar etc etc and the same result around 20 to 40 seconds run time :(

I think HDD cameras do this no matter how slow you're going or how smooth a road your on. I think HDD cameras have some sort of system built in so that if you drop a HDD camera then it braces itself for impact, so to speak, and protects all the footage on the HDD. The constant vibration from the engine being turned on is probably enough for it to keep shutting down like it is doing.

We had 2 HDD cameras out in cars on the RAC last year and they did exactly the same thing/
