there are 2 types of common CB's one is suited for the south and is a 40ch AM set and the other is more suited to the north and UK and is a 40ch FM set

The two will not work together

try long communications or www.sec.ie (http://www.sec.ie) he is in waterford

get a dual band, best of both worlds! plenty on ebay!

AM is mostly the one that truckers use but is also illegal.
FM has a clearer sound and has a better range.
Depends on what your cb buddies have got which option you choose.
President jackson is prob best dual frequency cb available, bit pricey tho

midland 78+ is a good job, we use a pile of them! no hassle changing between AM and FM. or i think the midland 121 is dualband too. depends on the money i suppose!
