What Are The Main Things Scrutenners Look For

the best thing if youre not sure is to contact your local scrutineer, ask him to thoroughly look over your car before youre going to the car's first event, most are very accommodating, and at least it will save you the disappointment if you get turned away from an event for some detail that was missed

Nevermind the gob_sh_iTes on this forum, they always have a smart answer. Join your local club and start their. Most clubs have a scrutineer in their ranks. Contact Motorsport Ireland they could answer a lot.

Try and get a copy of the MI handbook (mine didn't come yet!) and go through the scrutiny requirements yourself. There is a copy of it on MI website (http://www.motorsportireland.com/index.cfm/loc/2-15.htm is the address). I know it's heavy going, but go through it and that's what a scrutineer looks for.

Then, contact a local friendly scrutineer and get them to look over the car before you. They'll spot things that you haven't, and give you time go get it sorted before the rally.

If you're starting off, most scrutineers will accommidate, as you're green, and it'll save both you and them grief at the scrutiny of the rally.

I know some experienced competitors who get their friendly scrutineer to look over their car before every event in case they missed anything.

When your rallycar is being logged a scrutineer has to do it for you, again all in the handbook, that would be the best time to suss out wat they look for.
